Monarch Butterfly Calcite is a rare and visually striking calcite variety from the El Potosí Mine in Santa Eulalia, Chihuahua, Mexico, prized for its layered formations, vivid coloration, and unique UV fluorescence. Often referred to as Mariposa Calcite (“butterfly” in Spanish). Exhibits scalenohedral crystals with iron oxide coatings, giving a layered look reminiscent of butterfly wings. Colors range from red, gold, maroon, and brown, often due to hematite inclusions
